School holidays are coming up Cape Town! I have a bit of mom guilt about the holidays actually, as other mothers always seem to plan these educational outings and nature walks and theatre visits and I’m all like:  “You’re coming with me to Pick ‘n Pay to buy toilet paper and milk – that’s your outing for the day!” or “Ooh I’m going to yoga, whooooo wants to go to to V-Club?!”. This blog sure is a lot of work sometimes, but it has allowed me, okay maybe FORCED me, to do things that would never normally fall within my comfort zone. I’m quite a “safe” person actually. I like routine. But I think that people like me often choose partners who encourage them to live a bit, and they end up choosing careers that do the same, and thank goodness for that, because otherwise you would find me curled up with my book at home 24 hours a day, never having done half of the glorious things that blogging and writing have brought blessedly into my life. Filling the Well in Robertson

How’s everyone? We went away this weekend to the most incredible place, called Tierhoek cottages in the Robertson valley. The pictures on the website don’t really do it justice, so here are some more, so you can see just how jaw-dropping the views and surroundings are (we stayed in Fig Tree cottage). Honestly I spent the whole weekend staring and just drinking in the silence and the beauty. We lazed about on the lawn, the kids played soccer, we went for walks, lay in the sun, visited a wine farm, went on a boat around a lake and just generally relaxed. Continue Reading…
