Bali Travel Diaries 2: Canggu

Someone asked me today if our trip to Bali seems like a bit of a dream, which to be honest it now does. Like a bit of heaven. I’ll be baking cupcakes for the school cake sale, or driving in traffic, or running on the treadmill, and suddenly I’ll remember the feel of warm turquoise water around my fingers, or the sight of green rice fields as far as the eye can see, or the interesting conversation I had with a Swiss girl one day in a taxi. Travel makes your memories richer, adds strands of colour, bursts of song, so that the soundtrack to your life becomes more vivid, and your imagination seems to stretch wider than it has ever before. Bali Travel Diaries 1: Uluwatu

I’ve had a bit of stage fright writing about Bali but I figure that there is no time like the present, so I may as well get started! Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have heard about many of the experiences and seen some of the pics, so excuse any repetition, but I do like to be thorough. My husband always teases me and calls me a “process” person! I like to follow processes EXACTLY in a linear fashion and deviations cause much irritation;). Bali Here We Come

I haven’t really written a chatty post for a while. I get into the habit of waiting for that big theme to come along, or that big issue, and then forget how this blog started out, which was just a collection of ramblings and the thrill of having 1 or 2 other people read what I wrote. So anyway, all I can think about right now is that tomorrow morning we will be kissing our two darlings goodbye, squeezing them tight, patting the pooches on their heads, handing over our keys, picking up our passports and bags and getting on a plane to Singapore.  Continue Reading…
